hello  why are you here exactly?  Surely there are better ways to spend your life.  Oh well, since you're here read on

I'm Paul Groves, 23 years old.  I live in a town called Radcliffe somewhere in north Manchester.  Yes it rains a lot.  I'm still working at ASDA in Bury (6 years and counting!), even though I got my degree.  You see, I just can't decide what kind of I.T. job I want.

As far as careers go if anyone is interested, my online CV can be viewed [here].  I did/am doing some some consultancy on a project for an American company called Aviation Instrumentation Technology Incorporated, the culmination of which is [here].  If you are interested in contacting me for some software engineering work drop me a line: [paulyg@clara.net]

photos  the majority of the pictures of my mates and I were taken in the Sparking Clog in Radcliffe.  Every Christmas eve, friends come back to Radcliffe for their mum's Christmas dinner - invariably these people end up in the Clog.  Having said this not many photos of my friends and I exist, mainly because:

1. Caroline's giving the V's.

2. Alex has his arse out in a mooning type fashion.

3. Andrew's pretending he's in the Weather Girls or something <shudder>

4. Kellie's being a 'lush'

Some pictures that are eligible for public viewing are from [Christmas and new years eve 1999].

[Christmas eve 2000] was interesting, mainly because we were dislodged from our usual spot in the Clog.  Huh.  The cheek of some people.  Seemed pretty empty too...

[Chris from Guildford came up in August 2001 and stuff from August 2000].  Andrew used to work darn sarf and Chris was one of his colleagues.  At the time Chris was only 17 and was inexperienced in the ways of the pint.  With this in mind we decided to take him out on an all weekend bender.  Very messy.  Went down Radcliffe <shudder>, down Manchester and down Little Lever.  Alex broke me glasses...

[Greg had a do in September 2001] because he was getting married, not being one for hardcore stag do's he just went out round Bury.

[Greg's wedding later in September 2001] was an eye opener.  The church was nice, the wedding breakfast  was cool but for some reason we'd been put on a table in corner.  A table far away from anyone else.  A table very near the bar.  Oh dear.  Now I see their point.

[Christmas Eve 2001] in the Clog again.  Apparently I was wearing a powder blue top just like Andi Peters on the Weakest Link a few nights before.  Crap.

Looking for more photos, I realised that I didn't have many of university at all.  There's two good reasons for this.  Beer and lack of money to buy films for the camera (but enough to buy more beer - see?).  Anyway, Mark's parents threw a do for him in [summer 1999] before he left for the US.

And for a laugh - at our expense - some pictures from [the last day of school 1994]  Yeesh.  That was a long time ago!  Ahh, we all looked so bright-eyed and bushy tailed did we not?  Slightly more recently there were college era pictures of [Kellies house party carpet and drinks in the Bull] near Stand college, Whitefield (now sadly RIP).

The day that every spotty teenager (and god knows, I was one) hates is photograph day.  I've been 'ill' on so many of these I've lost count.  I did go to the last one at Radcliffe High though because they were going to take a mega-group photo.  These pictures are big, you've been warned :)

One last one for fun, can you spot Paul in this crowd?  (Hint: matching brown jumper and NHS glasses - bless)

brown  before you ask, they say brown's the new blue so that explains the choice of colour...
